The Music Ministry
The Fire & Water Music Ministry is headed up by the co-founding Pastor Robert Contreras. Pastor Robert has headed up the Music Ministry now for nearly two decades here at FWIC and served under other passionate and anointed Music Directors both in Arizona and California. The Music Ministry is comprised of musicians, vocalists and choir members whose primary focus is to use their God-given talents and abilities for the Kingdom. Corporate Praise & Worship is just the tip of the iceberg we truly believe that a lifestyle of praise & worship to God is what makes a Music Ministry thrive. We don’t claim to be perfect or get it exactly right one hundred percent of the time but we do strive for excellence because our God is worth it. We are not performers and this is in no way about us as individuals; it's about Him and about pointing others to Him. Robert was brought up in a Christian home and came to know the Lord at a very young age. As he grew older he strayed away from the truth, yet he knew there was a call of God was on his life. In 1991, Robert relocated from California to Arizona and rededicated his life to the Lord while attending a Reinhard Bonnke crusade.
In 1995, Robert teamed up with a recently saved co-worker, Gus Korkotselos, to form Fire & Water International Ministries. Pastor Robert has served under many powerful ministries, which have included, Pastor Tommy Barnet & Pastor David Ritter of Phoenix First Assembly of God. Pastor Robert was ordained in 1998.
Pastor Robert told us, "I love music and being a part of what God is doing here at FWIC; I couldn't imagine my life any other way. Being the Worship Pastor is a dream come true and I look forward to what God will do through our talented musicians and vocalist here."
